I completed three years of General Surgery at Hospital da Lagoa in Rio de Janeiro, and then pursued specialization in Plastic Surgery at Professor Ivo Pitanguy's Service, where I was selected directly from Santa Casa to work at the Pitanguy Clinic, by personal choice of Dr. Ivo Pitanguy.
During this time, I lived at the clinic full-time for almost four years, gaining valuable experience alongside the person I admired most in life. I was appointed chief resident, achieving a record number of scientific publications during that period.
I am a full member of several entities, including the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, the Brazilian College of Surgeons, the Brazilian Society of Video Surgery, the International College of Surgeons, the Society of Laser Surgery, as well as The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic Surgery.

Born in Belo Horizonte, Ivo Pitanguy began his studies in Medicine at UFMG and graduated from UFRJ at the end of the 1940s. His passion for the arts came from his mother, a sensitive and cultured woman. His vocation for medicine arose from his father's influence, a general surgeon. Driven by the desire to 'conquer disease', he charted his own path, shaped by a solid family foundation and a constant curiosity.
After winning a contest at the end of the 1940s, he received a scholarship to Ohio (USA), where he served as a resident surgeon, also working in clinics in Minnesota and New York. Upon returning to Brazil, he led the creation of the 1st Hand Surgery Service in South America (1949), benefiting numerous needy patients. In 1950, he was invited by Marc Iselin, a world reference in hand surgery, to work in Paris, where he further improved his training.
Back in Brazil, he dedicated himself to making plastic surgery more respected and recognized. In 1960, he founded the postgraduate course in Plastic Surgery at PUC-RJ, which has already trained around 500 students from over 40 countries, featuring a theoretical-practical program.
